The empowerment of girls and women is the new frontier for human rights in the 21st century. We believe that development is not sustainable if it is unequal. This is why we must do far more together to uphold the human rights and potential of every girl and women. The empowerment of girls and women starts on the benches of school, with quality education and access to culture and information. Gender equality means literacy. It means access to science. It means genuine possibilities for girls to become everything they wish for and to make their own informed choices. This is essential for human rights, for health, for sustainable development, and for the fabric of societies as a whole this is what HAI stands for as an organization.
Good community development is action that helps people to recognise and develop their ability and potential and organise themselves to respond to problems and needs which they share. It supports the establishment of strong communities that control and use assets to promote social justice and help improve the quality of community life. It also enables community and public agencies to work together to improve the quality of life. This is fundamental to us at HAI and as such we strive to give our very best to make this a reality.
Community empowerment we believe is the process of enabling communities to increase control over their lives. Community empowerment, therefore, is more than the involvement, participation or engagement of communities. It implies community ownership and action that explicitly aims at social and political change a process of re-negotiating power in order to gain more control. Community empowerment necessarily addresses the social, cultural, political and economic determinants that underpin health, and seeks to build partnerships with other sectors in finding solutions. Our goal at HAI is to indeed empower the people.
We understand that a successful community sensitization outreach requires consistent messages repeated in a wide variety of materials and reinforced by interpersonal contact as well local media channels. At Hopes Alive Initiative, it is crucial for us to carefully plan, implement, and adequately resource community sensitization and mobilization efforts and as such we give the best on our table to make this a reality in-turn improving the general living standard of the community.
Hopes Alive Initiative passionately believes in the lifting and fulfilling of the hopes and aspiration of the underprivileged and the down trodden, as such we take pride in the empowerment of the youth. We believe the ripple effect of positively empowered youths can be tremendous on the community at large. Our empowerment programs ranges from training and support as necessary to establish the youth and much more.
“HEALTH IS WEALTH” as we all know, Hopes Alive Initiative has a mandate to give hope to the hopeless and also strive to help alleviate the challenges that leads to hopelessness. An example of this gesture is our medical outreach lead by seasoned Medical Expert with vast experience in public health. Our medical outreach cuts across all communities around the country. Practical examples are the IDP Camps around the nation where there is a real need to raise the standard of the medical attention HAI not only made available the quick access medical needs to cater for the immediate need but also plan on building standard medical facilities equipped with modern day facilities to cater for the medical needs of that community across the nation.
